[Draft — board to approve before launch]

Privacy and photo policy

We collect as little as we can, use it only for the reason you gave it to us, and never sell or share it for marketing.

What we collect

When you fill in a form on this site — volunteering, event registration or a message — we receive what you type: your name, email, and anything else you choose to tell us (for example a phone number or accessibility needs).

Why we collect it

Only to do what you asked: reply to you, plan an event, or match you to a volunteer role. Event registrations may also be counted (without names) in our reports to funders and regulators.

Where it is kept

Form submissions are delivered by [form service] to the society’s email account. Only the volunteers who need them can see them. [Retention: e.g. event registrations deleted 3 months after the event; volunteer details kept while you volunteer.]

Photos

We only publish photos of people who have given written permission — for children, a parent or guardian. We never show the faces of people receiving help through our Basic Needs program. If you see yourself in a photo and want it removed, email us and we will take it down.

Analytics and cookies

[If enabled: we use privacy-friendly, cookie-free visit counts. Otherwise: this site does not use tracking cookies.]

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to [info@domain.ca].
